Racially, ethnically, and socio-economically diverse Independent School District #196 located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, in partnership with The University of Iowa, local business and industry partners, and community colleges, is developing a national K-12 STEM Innovation Pathway. By infusing Invention Education into the core curriculum, every student will gain the skills and mindsets needed to be better “problem finders and solution makers.”

Join InventEd on Wednesday, October 5 from 1-2pm PT/3-4pm CT/5-6pm ET to explore the K-12 STEM Innovation Pathway model. This dynamic session takes a holistic approach to engage as many stakeholders as possible to share how the program grew from concept, built buy-in from key partners, and continues to evolve and scale today. Research data illustrates how students’ inventive skills, mindsets, and conceptual knowledge change over time and how these competencies prepare students for college and workforce readiness.

Our moderator is Dr. Leslie Flynn, Professor of STEM Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Director of STEM Innovator at The University of Iowa. She will be joined by six innovator teams representing high school STEM, high school liberal arts, middle school, community partners, administration, and most importantly, students.
